Our Programs
International House programs foster relationships and offer services to help immigrants and refugees thrive in their new homes.
We focus on creating meaningful friendships that encourage understanding while supporting the deep emotional and relational needs of our refugee and international friends. Our staff and volunteers offer a safe space where questions can be asked, and individuals can feel known and loved.
Some of the success stories
Sewing New Possibilities
When a woman arrives from a refugee camp and lands in Fort Wayne, her world is suddenly and radically different. The weather is colder, the people are foreign, and the customs are strange. There is a great deal to adapt to and adjust to as she navigates this new world. Many times as ladies join the sewing program at International House, one of the first obstacles she encounters, outside of the language barrier, is making choices. Simple things that American women take for granted, are milestones for a newly arrived international.
